Art work by the artist
Michel Keck
This artist uses mixed media really well, he photographs the dog several times, uses those photos in a collage and uses lots of patterned paper in a collage.
He rips his patterned paper rather than cutting neatly...........Perhaps you could take a photo of Max, the school dog if you don't have a pet dog?
Collage could be cutting and pasting paper for real or could be digital carried out on Adobe Photoshop. The children's book illustrator, Lauren Child makes collages on Photoshop to create the 'Charlie and Lola' books.

Think about unusual angles, drawing your pet dog from below, an ant's eye view of your dog or take photos lying underneath his head!
